Every client MUST read and sign this before any services may be provided.
The Polished Cauldron - Service Agreement
This Service Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into between Taqira Elliott-Tompkins ("Service Provider"), located at 15700 Hebrides Dr, Chesterfield VA 23838, and the undersigned client ("Client").
1. Description of Services: The Service Provider agrees to perform laundry services including washing, drying, and folding of Client's clothing and household items ("Laundry"). Optional ironing/steaming services are available upon request and at an additional charge. The Service Provider utilizes high-quality detergents, fabric softeners, and other laundry products. Specific product requests or preferences should be indicated by the Client on the Laundry Intake Form.
2. Pick-Up and Drop-Off Logistics:
a. Scheduling: All pick-up and drop-off times must be scheduled in advance and confirmed by the Service Provider.
b. Availability: Pick-up and drop-off services are available early mornings [e.g., 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM] and evenings [e.g., 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM], Monday through Friday, excluding public holidays.
c. Client Responsibility: Client agrees to have laundry ready for pick-up at the agreed-upon time and location. Client or a designated person must be available to receive dropped-off laundry. Unattended laundry (at pick-up or drop-off) is at the Client's sole risk.
3. Turnaround Time: The standard turnaround time for services is two (2) business days from the time of pick-up. This excludes weekends and holidays. Delays due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., equipment malfunction, severe weather) will be communicated promptly to the Client.
4. Pricing and Payment:
a. Pricing: Services are priced as follows:

Wash, Dry, Fold: $1.40 per pound (minimum charge: 30 lbs).

Fluff and Fold: $1.35 per pound (minimum charge: 30lbs).

Expedited Services: $30 upcharge for delivery within 24 hours from pick-up time.

Ironing/Steaming: $20 per hour (minimum 60 minutes).

Other services and special requests will be quoted individually.
A detailed price list is available upon request and will be provided with each order confirmation.
b. Payment: Full payment for services is required upfront at the time the order is placed and confirmed. Services will not commence until payment is received. Payment methods accepted: [e.g., Cash, Venmo, PayPal, Zelle].
c. Weight Discrepancies: Laundry will be weighed upon receipt by the Service Provider. Any significant discrepancy between estimated and actual weight will be communicated to the Client, and the final charge will be adjusted accordingly.
5. Client Responsibilities:
a. Pocket Check: It is the Client's sole responsibility to check all pockets and remove all items (e.g., pens, money, tissues, valuables) prior to handing over laundry to the Service Provider. The Service Provider is not responsible for any damage to laundry or lost items resulting from items left in pockets.
b. Garment Care Instructions: Client must inform the Service Provider of any special care instructions (e.g., hang dry only, delicate cycle, specific water temperature) for individual garments on the Laundry Intake Form or by clearly separating and labeling such items. Items without specific instructions will be washed according to standard procedures.
c. Contaminated Items: Service Provider reserves the right to refuse service for items deemed excessively soiled, contaminated with hazardous materials, or posing a health risk. There are soiled & Stain service options for items appropriate which are quoted on a case-by-case basis.
d. Pre-Sorting: Clients may pre-sort laundry by color or type. If not pre-sorted, the Service Provider will sort. Service Provider is not responsible for color bleeding or damage if items are not properly pre-sorted by the Client.
6. Limitation of Liability:
a. Damage/Loss: The Service Provider exercises utmost care in processing laundry. However, due to the inherent nature of laundry and factors beyond control, the Service Provider's liability for lost or damaged items is limited to a maximum of $500 per order, or $40 per item, whichever is less, and is contingent upon proof of original value and damage attributable to the Service Provider's negligence.
b. Exclusions: The Service Provider is not responsible for:

Damage to items with inherent weaknesses (e.g., worn fabrics, defective zippers, buttons, embellishments).

Color fading, shrinkage, or stretching that may occur during standard washing and drying processes.

Loss of items due to client's failure to check pockets.

Damage to items left unattended at pick-up/drop-off.

Damages from items that bleed color due to improper sorting by the client.
c. Claims: Any claims for damaged or lost laundry must be reported to the Service Provider within [e.g., 48 hours] of receiving the laundry. Claims reported after this period may not be honored. All claims must be accompanied by the original laundry order and specific details of the alleged damage/loss.
d. Unclaimed Laundry: For those who decline delivery, Laundry not picked up within [e.g., 30 days] of notification will be considered abandoned and may be donated or disposed of.
7. Indemnification: Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Service Provider from any and all claims, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from the Client's breach of this Agreement, or from any injury or damage caused by items left in Client's laundry.
8. Governing Law: This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
9. Entire Agreement: This Agreement, along with the Laundry Intake Form and Price List, constitutes the entire agreement between the Service Provider and the Client regarding the services provided.
